Our next contest has a two-word title: Winter Kills. We leave it up to you to interpret how you wish: possibly a thriller, perhaps something with an elegiac flavor, or maybe 1500 sharp words served up with a deep layer of irony. It’s your call.
As always, we want you to deliver a tight and well-constructed structure / plotline and not even one redundant word. Less is more: the writer who provides maximum meaning with minimum words wins hands down.
Entry is free and open to all members of the Colony and non-members alike, whether already published or not. There will be one Laureate and two runners-up. The winner will have the right to use the designation “Litopia Laureateâ€. Although there is no cash prize, this is a serious competition that will, we hope, add kudos and stature to the winner’s reputation. Winning entries will be published on this site.
Entries must be received by midnight GMT on 30th November 2006. Entries are only accepted according to the terms described in our Official Rules for Writing Contests which can be read below.
When you are ready to submit your entry, download a competition entry form (Word document) by clicking here and follow the submission instructions. Good luck!
