Let’s divide submissions into three basic categories.
First, there are submissions – in fact, contacts would be a better word – from established writers who are either looking to change their representation or perhaps are not yet represented. I am always pleased to talk to writers who fall into in this category, obviously without any commitments and in strict confidence if required. Please use the form on this page of Redhammer’s website to make contact.
Then, there are submissions from writers who are yet to be published by a major publisher. Because my agency strives to give far more attention to each client than is normally the case, we simply do not have the resources to consider unsolicited submissions from unpublished writers. There are literally tens of thousands of such manuscripts in circulation, and opening the flood gates to these submissions would absolutely swamp us.
However, do not despair! I am available to give advice to unpublished authors and consider a restricted number of submissions at Litopia Writers’ Colony, www.litopia.com. Litopia is a thriving community of committed writers, and it provides an excellent environment in which creativity can flourish and talent can be fully developed. The Colony welcomes all writers who take their craft seriously.
If you choose not to go this route and still insist on sending me an unsolicited submission, then you probably won’t receive a response - so don’t chew me out about, it, OK?
Finally, I am very interested in unusual people (or people to whom unusual things have happened) who may not wish to write themselves, but who have a good story to tell and are looking for help in doing so. Use the form on this page of our website to make contact.
